About us

Bowerbird Home began in 2023 in Seattle, founded by Grace and Erik—partners in life and in a shared passion for design, craft, and meaningful objects. In 2025, they brought their vision to Detroit—Grace’s home state—to grow in a city celebrated for its history, resilience, and creativity.

Grace is a weaver who transforms discarded textiles into rugs and abstract tapestries. Her sustainable practice reduces waste while breathing new life into forgotten materials. This commitment to renewal is at the heart of Bowerbird Home: extending the life of quality goods and finding beauty in what already exists.

Erik’s lifelong love of interiors led him into a career in interior photography, where he refined his eye for light, detail, and composition. Inspired by his years in northern Sweden, his aesthetic blends Scandinavian simplicity with an appreciation for storied, character-rich pieces.

Together, Grace and Erik curate with intention—selecting items with soul, craftsmanship, and integrity to help people create homes that reflect who they truly are.
