Ashanti beads are also known as "talking beads." They get their name from the distinct sounds that the various shaped beads make. The beads are intended to knock together as a person moves. The name of the beads come from where they are crafted, in the Ashanti region of Ghana. Excellent as a decorative accent when placed around a pillar candle or vase to create a subtle textural accent.
